Retirement
If you’re thinking of retiring, contact the Pension Fund Office to start the pension application process. You must complete an application for a pension benefit at least one month before the date you expect benefit payments to begin. You are required to complete the application form at the Pension Fund Office.
Reduction of contribution rates does not affect pension benefit accrual or pension benefits. Read the details in this announcement letter.

Do I Get My Pension for Life?
Yes. But note that if you’re married when your pension starts, you have the option of electing a 50% Joint and Survivor Benefit. If you choose this option, your pension will be slightly smaller because it is designed to be paid over two people’s lifetimes—yours and your spouse’s.
